Located at the top of the hill a small drive from the city centre, The Otago Golf Club welcomes golfers to the famous Balmacewen Golf Course – whether you’re a bit of a novice looking to spend an enjoyable day on the course with friends,
a sharp shooter looking to take on the course record, or somewhere in between.
Regardless of your golfing prowess, it’s easy to see you are playing at the oldest golf club in the Southern Hemisphere with fantastic brushed fairways, manicured greens and a wonderful green environment. It will be a great day’s golf.
Feel the adrenalin as you stand on The Glen, our 11th and signature hole. The Glen is internationally recognised as one of the world’s great holes. Consider carefully whether you play safe with a 5 iron, or take it on with your driver.
End your day in our clubhouse with a thirst-quencher and fine food.

Visitors to our city – you can source all the equipment you need right here at Balmacewen. We have men’s and women’s left and right handed clubs, and golf carts for hire.
Our Golf Shop carries many of the golfing world’s leading brands of equipment, clothing and accessories. Whether you are a beginner or experienced golfer, all the big names are here, including Ping, Titleist and Taylormade. Talk to the experts about fitting and advice.
